Why Floating 3 Times is Essential

Floating is an art, and like any form of art, it gets better the more you practice.

Floating is an art, and like any form of art, it gets better the more you practice. Each float session builds upon the previous one, allowing you to delve deeper into the experience and reap greater benefits.

Here’s a breakdown on the relax and recover framework that shapes how you will relax, the more you float.

Phase 1 – Adaption Phase – Your First Float

The first float session introduces your body and mind to the concept of sensory deprivation and weightlessness. You will notice the comforting temperature of the water (35 degrees) and the star lights above your head. You’ll notice the soothing music to ease you into your float – both of which are optional.

As you lay on your back in the float tank, touch your feet and hands on the side of the tank to bring your body to stillness, finding a comfortable position for your arms (either by your sides, on your stomach or above your head).

Phase 2 – Relaxation State – Your Second Float

During this second phase, your body and mind are getting used to the quiet environment and can achieve a heightened state of mindfulness. This is when you really start floating, as you drift off into greater relaxation.

Phase 3 – Journey to Flow State of Mind – Your Third Float

By your third float, you can begin to see the benefits from the second phase. You start questioning ‘am I floating, am I not floating, am I in the water, am I out of the water’. Your body and mind relax; you will notice the Epsom Salt softening the tension in your body and your enhanced mental clarity and focus making it an excellent tool for self-reflection and creating calmness.

Phase 4 – The Best Phase – Your Fourth Float

The fourth and final phase is the pinnacle of your float journey. This fourth float will be where you can effortlessly slip into the flow state, which is a pure state of relaxation and mental clarity. It’s not uncommon to drift off into sleep during this phase, experiencing a level of relaxation and rejuvenation that is truly remarkable.

For first time floaters, it might take up to 30 minutes to reach this fourth phase. However, with every subsequent float, you’ll find yourself reaching the flow state more quickly. By your third float session, you can expect to attain this state within just 20 minutes.

These distinct phases will guide you towards the ultimate state of peace and tranquillity.
