Benefits of Float Tank Therapy for NDIS

For those registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), prioritising wellness and finding a therapeutic option can be difficult. Falling within the Allied Health sector, Massage & Float are a NDIS registered provider. Our services on offer are aimed to improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress levels and reduce sleep deprivation. Our goal is to help NDIS participants to live as independently and pain free as possible.

Here at Massage & Float, we offer a combination of massage and float tank therapy to restore, heal and enhance wellbeing, ensuring each session is tailored to meet specific needs, such as physical, mental and emotional support.

Float tank therapy, otherwise known as sensory deprivation therapy, involves floating in a specially designed, open style tank filled with body temperature water and magnesium. This creates a weightless and calming environment to:

  • Alleviate chronic pain, from conditions such as, but not limited to, arthritis or fibromyalgia. The weightlessness of the water reduces the pressure on the joints, promoting relaxation and reducing discomfort.
  • Reduce sensory stimulation with the stimulus-free environment, float tank therapy has a calm and soothing effect.
  • Promote mental clarity and reduce stress by promoting relaxation, to help manage anxiety and depression. The controlled environment of a float tank offers respite for mental clarity, focus and emotional wellbeing.

Massage therapy can positively impact NDIS participants in:

  • Pain management
  • Improving mobility and flexibility
  • Stress reduction and relaxation
  • Body awareness and self-care

How to access massage and float services through NDIS funding:

This depends on how your NDIS fund is managed. There are three ways to manage your funding:

  1. Self-managed: you’ll be given an invoice with your services listed to be reimbursed through the NDIS claim process.
  2. Plan-managed: an invoice will be sent to your plan manager, post treatment.
  3. NDIA-managed: this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

We’re a proud NDIS approved massage and float therapy provider, that aim to assist all individuals in easing any tensions or anxiety. If you’re eligible for services under code 09_008_0116_6_3, we encourage you to get in touch.
