Tap into the gentle energy of Reiki to increase your energy, feel more relaxed, and improve your overall wellbeing and happiness.
Reiki, pronounced ‘ray-key’, is a Japanese healing technique derived from the Japanese words ‘rei’, meaning universal, and ‘ki’, which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things. The underlying philosophy of Reiki is that if a person’s energy is low, they are more likely to be unwell or stressed. Conversely, if a person’s energy is high, they are more able to feel happy and well. While Reiki will not cure illness or disease, it may help your body feel more relaxed and peaceful. Reiki is applied through non-invasive, non-manipulative gentle touch. Reiki is an abundant, gentle spiritual energy and is not tied to any specific religion or nationality.
Reiki breaks down energy blocks and balances the mind, body, and spirit. Regular Reiki treatment promotes the consistent and unblocked flow of energy throughout the body. This allows people to feel less stress, promotes mental clarity, and improves mood and physical balance.
Before commencing your treatment your Reiki therapist will get a full understanding of any relevant history and your expectations. A Reiki session will involve the client lying fully clothed on a Reiki/massage table. The specialised practitioner places their hands on or just above your body in sequences of positions to tap into your body’s natural healing ability. Unlike massage, a Reiki session does not involve any form of physical manipulation. During your Reiki session, you may feel warmth or cold, a tingling sensation, slight twitching, a rumbling tummy, or you may feel deeply relaxed and calm. A complete Reiki session can last from 60 to 90 minutes.
